The key to growth is the introduction of the higher dimensions of consciousness into our awareness.
Characteristics of a Good Introductory Paragraph
- It should be an attention seeker. It should grip the reader by grabbing all their attention.
- It should bring in your topic. Start writing it broadly but not too broad, stay away from irrelevant details while sticking to your point of interest.
- It should present your stance on the topic (thesis).
How to write a good introduction
Be subtle in the beginning
Below the title, we write an introduction paragraph. It is a kind of mini outline for the paper which will reveal the reader what essay is all about. An introduction will be an appetizer for the reader and gives him a foretaste of what main course is to come.
Stay away from irrelevant context
Come up with the cleverest illustration and an apparent beginning point. The last sentence of this paragraph must also contain translational “hooks” which will pulley the reader over the first paragraph or the body of the paper.
Provide a thesis
A thesis will be the reflection of your context. If the thesis is well-built and convinced then you are setting yourself for success. My personal outlook is that it can sometimes be tongue-tied to push your thesis in one specific place if it doesn’t necessarily fit, but if your thesis works in that situation, that is the best place for it. That is being said, if you absolutely can’t include your thesis in that location goes at the forefront and stick it somewhere else.
Stop being anxious
Introduction paragraph will make up about 5% of your essay word count. Students often slip-up and fall straight into the “body of context” without following the convention of beginning with an introduction. Hunt down stress, wrap your essay around your stress and what will follow is a top-notch work.
Try to avoid cliches
Nobody wants to read the repeated creep points again and again which have been used so often that they have become tired and clichéd. Opening your essay with clarity is a good example of one of these conventions. At this point, opening with a definition is a bit mind-numbing, and will cause your reader freaked out.
Convince the reader that your essay is worth reading
It’s all about the good ending and a perfect beginning. A good introduction is should have the potential to grab all the attention of a reader; the audience should dig up about the subject matter and wonder how you will be proving your argument. High-quality ways to convince your reader that your essay is worth of their time is to provide information that the reader might question or disagree with. Once they start thinking about the subject matter, and wondering why you hold your position, they are more likely to be occupied in the rest of the essay.
Conclusion
Introduction should be a great can canvas and you should throw all the paint on it. In a nutshell a good introduction should be a mini-outline of the context. It should be captivating, appealing and concise.
